At Philopoetics, we believe that rigorous literary mentorship and editorial guidance should not be gated by wealth or institutional privilege. Inspired by the traditions of mutual aid, the undercommons, and Coyote Pedagogy—which values process, equity, and collective survival over commodified knowledge—The Philopoetics Ecosystem Fund houses two vital avenues for community care and creative sustainability:
The Community Scholarship Fund
This fund directly subsidizes coaching retainers and manuscript development for writers who need it most.

Where Your Contribution Goes: 100% of these contributions go toward funding coaching tiers (such as the 1-on-1 Editorial & Coaching Retainer and 1-on-1 Accountability & Craft Retainer) for writers from historically marginalized and underrepresented backgrounds—including Black, Indigenous, people of color, disabled, LGBTQIA+, and low-income writers. By contributing here, you are dismantling financial barriers and investing in alternative learning spaces outside traditional institutional walls.
The Direct Artist & Educator Fund
In the tradition of the undercommons and artist patronage, this fund provides direct mutual aid to Petra Salazar—poet, educator, founder, and culture worker behind Philopoetics.

Where Your Contribution Goes: Contributions to this fund go directly toward supporting my ongoing creative work, marketing for my collection Harsh Terrain (FlowerSong Press), research, and the uncompensated administrative hours required to keep Philopoetics alive, independent, and rooted in community arts organizing.
